Psyche and the Pskyscraper (Henry)
Two young men, Joe and Dabster, were both in love with a girl named Daisy, who worked in a small candy store.
Joe owned the smallest store in New York, which was attached to the corner of a skyscraper. He had asked Daisy to marry him several times, but she always laughed at his tiny store and refused his proposal.
Dabster, on the other hand, was a philosopher who had recently moved into Daisy's boarding house. He was knowledgeable about various topics and often used his knowledge to impress others.
One day, Dabster took Daisy to the top of the skyscraper to show her the view. As they looked down at the people below, Dabster began to philosophize about the insignificance of human life compared to the vastness of the universe. He shared various facts and figures about the stars and their distances from Earth, but Daisy became increasingly frightened and upset by his words.
The panorama exposed to the gaze from the top of a lofty building is not only sublime, but instructive.
Suddenly, a meteor shot across the sky, causing Daisy to scream in terror. She demanded that Dabster take her back down to the ground immediately.
You're lyin', you're tryin' to scare me. And you have; I want to go down!
Once they reached the bottom of the skyscraper, Daisy ran away from Dabster and straight into Joe's tiny store. She told Joe that she had been on the skyscraper and realized how much she appreciated the warmth and coziness of his small store. Daisy then agreed to marry Joe, finally accepting his proposal.
